Using the Navigation Bar in OIE Web publications
An OIE Web Publication is the Web equivalent of a printed book, containing Contents, an Index and numerous inter-linked pages. OIE Web Publications use a Navigation Bar at the top of the page, similar to:
| (a) | (b) | (c) | (d) | (e) | |
| Manual of Diagnostic Tests |
PART 3 ..« ».. | SECTION 3.2. ..« ».. | CHAPTER 3.2.9. ..« »» | Table of contents ? - Index | |
The name of the Publication is shown on the left-hand side of the Bar (a). On the right-hand side (e), there are links to access the Table of contents, the Index or ? (this Help page). The section in the middle of the Bar indicates where you are within the Publication and allows quick access at various levels.
In the example above, you are currently in Part 3 / Section 3.2 / Chapter 3.2.9 of the International Animal Health Code (Chapter 3.2.9 is not a link, which indicates that it is the current page).
You may click on the links PART 3 or SECTION 3.2. to return directly to these pages. Alternatively, you may use ..« (previous) and ».. (next) to navigate through the pages as follows:
- at level (b), ..« goes to PART 2 and ».. goes to PART 4
- at level (c), ..« goes to SECTION 3.1 and ».. goes to SECTION 3.3
- etc....
The » (shown at level (d) in the example above) indicates the next sequential page in the Publication (that is, what would be the next page when reading a printed form of the Publication).
Finally, at the bottom of each page is another navigation bar, similar to:| Table of contents | »» |
This allows you to return to the Table of Contents or access the next sequential page in the Publication.
