In fish, enucleation is a necessary procedure during major infections or neoplastic ocular conditions, where the comfort and life of the animal are at stake. This is a rare surgical procedure but relatively simple to perform. However, due to their small size and especially their aquatic lifestyle, mastery of anesthesia and the anatomical particularities of fish is essential for a precise and rapid intervention.

A case of enucleation of the left eye of a goldfish presenting a corneal fibroma is detailed here step by step.
