Veterinarian examining a fish before defining its treatment plan

Evidence-based prescribing, medicine supply where permitted and treatment follow-up for aquatic animals.

Our areas of support

Expertise tailored to your situation, animals and facilities.

Assessment and prescribing

Combine examination, history, environmental findings and relevant tests before prescribing a suitable treatment.

Treatment and medicine supply

Define administration protocols and supply veterinary medicines where regulatory conditions are met.

Therapeutic follow-up

Monitor efficacy, tolerance and clinical progress so that care can be adjusted or discontinued appropriately.

A structured approach

A clear process from needs assessment to practical recommendations.

Assess

Review the health situation, species, environment and previous treatments.

Select

Choose a proportionate strategy compatible with the animals’ status.

Implement

Define administration, precautions, traceability and any applicable withdrawal periods.

Follow up

Assess efficacy and tolerance, then adjust the strategy where necessary.

“Therapeutic care extends the diagnostic process: understand the situation, select a proportionate intervention, organise administration and assess the outcome.”

Typical situations

  • Disease requiring medical care
  • Individual or group treatment
  • Anaesthesia, analgesia or perioperative care
  • Review of an ongoing treatment

Can you prescribe treatment remotely?

Prescribing requires adequate knowledge of the animals and their health situation. A visit, examination, sampling or an established veterinary health relationship may be required.

Can Vetofish supply prescribed medicines?

Where regulatory conditions are met, the prescribing veterinarian may supply the necessary medicines. A pharmacy or another authorised establishment may be involved depending on the medicine and situation.

Do you support bath or in-feed treatments?

Yes. Vetofish can design individual or group protocols using baths, feed, injection or local application. Selection depends on species, biomass, facility and medicine properties.

What if no medicine is specifically authorised for the species?

The veterinarian assesses available options under the applicable framework, including species, animal status and possible entry into the human food chain. An authorised pharmaceutical establishment may be involved where necessary.

How do you monitor treatment efficacy?

Criteria are defined before treatment, including clinical progress, mortality, feeding behaviour, water parameters, tolerance and relevant follow-up test results.

Let’s discuss your project and requirements.
