How to measure the salinity of water?
After salt has been added to a freshwater aquarium or pond, salinity can be estimated from the water’s conductivity. A conductivity meter provides this measurement.
Depending on the purpose of the salt treatment, the concentrations can vary between 0.5 g and 10 g of salt per liter of water.
Examples of conductivity meters adapted to this measurement range :
EC/TDS/°C tester, 20.00 mS; 10.00 g/L (reference Hanna HI 98312)
PH/EC/TDS/°C tester, 20.00 mS; 10.00 g/L (reference Hanna HI 98130)
Standard solutions 6.44 g/L, 25 sachets of 20 mL (reference Hanna HI 70038P)
